What is absorbency combining?

By combining absorbency we understand proper product selection with regard to the current needs and using additional protection to avoid unnecessary bedclothes laundry.

Where is the idea from?

A human being lives according to an internal clock. Even when observing people leading a very unorganised life, one can see that they live by a certain daily pattern, which includes all their actions like taking care of one’s physiological needs. Urine production is constant, but increases when a person takes fluids, mostly during the day. At night, when the organism is resting, urine production decreases. Since the extent of urine production varies during night and day one can take advantage of that fact when choosing absorbent products.

By observing patients and analyzing certain factors, minding how frequently they occur, one can reveal a certain pattern characteristic for each of the patients. The pattern is more vivid when a patient follows a certain daily routine.

These observations can be noted in a urinary diary, which will show when a patient needs a more absorbent product. Such a diary helps to work out the way to combine absorbencies, which is a simple task, yet it makes it possible to reduce the amount of money spent on absorbent products and bedclothes laundry.

Absorbency combining in practice

Everyone needs to work out an individual system of combining absorbency of different products. These examples might be useful to start:

  1. At night, the period between changing diapers is quite long – if standard absorbency of a product is not sufficient try using a product with higher absorbency. A person using Super Seni during the day might want to use Super Seni Plus at night.
  1. Patients, who practice bladder training do not require highly absorbent products – they require protection in case they won’t make it to the toilet in time, so it might be enough for them to use anatomically shaped pads, or even the bladder control pads (depending on the extent of the problem with incontinence).
  2. If a patient experiences minor urine loss at night, instead of using highly absorbent diapers it is worth to consider using hygienic underpads that will protect the bed from wetness reducing bedclothes laundry expenses.

Combining absorbencies is worth the effort, because thanks to leakage prevention it is possible to reduce expenses.
